TEHRAN – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy has affirmed the independent actions of Yemeni armed forces in their military operations in the Red Sea.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri highlighted that the Yemeni Resistance group’s attacks on ships with Israeli connections are in solidarity with the Muslim population in Gaza who are enduring daily trauma due to the atrocities done by the Zionist regime.

He, in an interview on Monday, expressed how the Yemenis showcased their intolerance for witnessing the martyrdom of Muslim families in Gaza. Speaking to Al Alam news channel, Tangsiri emphasized Yemen's status as an independent nation with a strong army and leadership unaffected by external influences.

“The attacks on Israeli-linked ships by Yemenis came in response to the Israeli regime's aggressive military campaign on Gaza in early October. These attacks subsequently expanded to include ships owned by the U.S. and Britain following their military actions on Yemeni soil, ostensibly aimed at securing shipping routes in the Red Sea and surrounding waters,” the IRGC commander added.

Addressing the Gaza conflict, Tangsiri denounced the unjust war against the people in Gaza and condemned the brutal child killing that is carried out by the Zionist regime. The IRGC commander underscored Yemen's maritime operations as a show of solidarity with Muslims, urging a re-evaluation of views on the Gaza situation and reiterating Yemen's independence.

Concerning the security issues in the Persian Gulf, Tangsiri emphasized the meaninglessness and security risks of foreign military presence in the region. He underscored Iran's extensive coastline, safeguarding entrance and exit routes through the Persian Gulf.
